A plush pillow that is a night light? How, pray tell, will your kid be able to lay his or her little head on the pillow without the light shining in their face? Thus presents the dilemma that is Dream Lites.

Dream Lites are the latest creation from the Pillow Pets people. I guess their idea of doing a sequel was to insert a night light into a Pillow Pet in order to light up the ceiling of your kid’s room. But usually a plush pillow is something that you might want to lay your head on.

So I guess this pillow nightlight contraption is just supposed to sit in the corner and not be used in bed. As a parent, I don’t know how comfortable I am with my kid sleeping with a night light. I presume this is safe and won’t catch juniors sheets on fire.

There are other ways to help kids enjoy the dark and not fear it. I doubt i am going to buy it even though it would soothe her right now and make her room pretty. The problem is there are no buyers’ reviews on web and after you place the order you must wait more than a month for product to be shipped. It looks as may be they don’t have the product, just collect orders to finance the production.

Yes my daughter wants one and they do need a night light but I’m leery of ordering with them. They seem kind of fraudulent. They used to be 29.97. Now they say 39.99 but get 25% off with coupon code which brought my total back to 29.99. So they just raised the price and called it a coupon. seems dishonest.
I agree. The price was 29.99 with DREAM coupon and without coupon it is 29.99 The DREAM coupon is suppose to give 25% off. I was going to order one, but now I am just angry with the company.

I was all set to order two, then I saw the cost of shipping/handling, etc. It was almost as much as the cost of a third one. My problem is, they only have certain ones in the stores and I need a dinosaur and turtle, which are only sold on-line.
Everytime this ad is on my daughter wants to show it to me. I’m glad I read the reviews because her birthday is March 14th If it takes a month to ship I will just order some other time.
I finally cancelled my order after waiting several weeks. My 6 year old is SO upset, checking the mail every day. And the order tracking system on their own web site keeps saying they have no record of my order, even though they have emailed me with 2 order confirmation numbers. I am worried it is a scam, so I canceled it.
I made the mistake of ordering this for the same reason my granddaughter wants one. I ordered something for her sister the same time same day and she already has her item so now the 7 yr old goes to the mailbox everyday waiting. She was so happy it was her first package. I am not amused

The day after I placed my order I received a phone call “verifying” my order, all it amounted to was another sales pitch for another item one of those discount coupon books. I refused to give them my credit card info over the phone when they called wanting to sell me a coupon book in return for $100.00 supposed free gas card. I want to order one of these for my daughter who will be 2 on 3/13 and I was just getting over the ridiculous price and now I’m reading it takes a MONTH?! I googled these to see if I could find reviews. Someone had it on their blog dated 1/25/12 and it showed pictures and the price was $29.95. So WHY did the price jump $10?!
We have the Cloud B ladybug as suggested above but it is definitely NOT something a child can sleep with. In fact the instructions specifically say do not leave in reach of child. The whole shell is hard and the underneath is hard. Looks like the Dream Lite would be much softer even WITH that little insert for the projection.

I bought 2 dream lite pets off the website after seeing the commercial. Three days later the dream lite pets still haven’t been delivered but noticed I have an unrecognized phone number calling me, this number called me approx. 30 times in 8 days, meanwhile my Dream Lite pets still haven’t arrived, after getting sick of the unrecognized phone number calling me 10 times a day I decided to call and find out who it was, well it was Dream Lites, and basically telling me my order should be sent out shortly (it wasnt even shipped yet) THEN they proceeded to force me over phone telling me I was signed up for some kind of rewards program that is un-related to the product Dream Lites which I ordered, that will bill me 29+ dollars every month after 30 days of recieving my Dream Lites and the contents contained within (the rewards coupons offer) but that can be cancelled after calling the number in the program contained in the package, they had me give my credit card number over the phone twice, made me repeat the last 4 digits of my credit card 4 times, as a way of recording my voice as some part of a verbal contract. This phone call lasted 30 minutes, while I was at work, and My package would not have been mailed untill this was done. I Strongly Recommend NOT buying Dream Lites!

I am in the same boat as you and many other customers waiting for the dreamlites order. Everytime my granddaughter sees the commercial she asks me why hasn’t the dreamlites come yet grandmom. I feel so bad because I didn’t have an answer. But after reading these reviews, I have been enlighted on the situation. I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering dreamlites. I definitely would have gotten something else for my granddaughter.

There is a phone number and email that you can contact i did . And they replied to my email the next day and was able to track my order. Yes they are backed order cause of all the people ordering them . The commercial hadnt been out for to long and you cant buy them at stores. They dont take your money out til the order has been shipped!

I just called Ontel Products Corporation @ 973.439.9035….they said there is a high demand for this item and it would be 3-6 WEEKS before the item would be in stock….thats too long for a 5 year old to wait….she’ll want something else by then and will have totally forgotten about this by the time it arrives in NJ or wherever it ships from…..I’m cancelling the order.
I ordered the Fluttery Butterfly on 2/22/12 and have never seen the charge hit my bank account. I tried to track the status of it on line and it cannot find my order. I called Ontel and sat on hold for over 15 minutes. Finally a representative came on and said they are on back order due to high demand. She asked which item I ordered and I told her the butterfly and she said they just received a shipment in and that it would ship out in 48 hours. I will keep you posted.

Yes my girl does like it a lot!! She sleeps with it every night. It is not very bright, but I guess it all depends on how big the room is. She has had sleep overs and all the kids love it.

My 3 year old saw the commercial and went crazy telling me he wanted the turtle one I tried to go to the website they mentioned on the commercial and I came along to this site. So glad I did. I think I will wait a while until someone else makes a similar model one that I can buy at Walmart because as you all probably know, children can’t wait. Cloudb makes a turtle for 29.95 available at Babiesrus and Barnes and Noble for a few dollars more. I don’t think I would take a chance on these people. My daughter has had 2 of these lady bugs. The only drawback is that they don’t last all that long (prob about 6-9 mos. depending on how much u use it). She liked it so much we got another one. Good luck. Someone also said earlier that they had the Dreamlites at Walmart, so I may check there.

Do not order Dream Lites! I ordered online and the next day an unrecognized number kept calling me like crazy! I finally answered the 2nd day and they were thanked me for ordering dreamlite and wanted 2 sell me some gas card. I agreed and was told that I would be switched to a confirmation specialist. She told me my last 4 of my credit card # then asked me to give my entire creditd card #! Y would u need my entire # if u already hv the last 4 of it?! I told her never mind. I couldn’t sleep so I called and canceled my bank card and ordered a new one just 2 b safe! I think its a scam!

It is small, but really cute (penguin), and it works as stated. I started receiving strange 1-800- phone numbers calling after ordering too, but I never answered any of them, and they have stopped. I was never charged any more than the price that was agreed on. I’m sure everyone will get theirs eventually. They obviously just took on more orders than they could handle.
I too was looking to buy one for my daughters upcoming 6th birthday. After reading all these ‘horror stories’, I think I will wait to see if they ever make it to the store shelves. I placed an order this AM (5/25/12) and after reading these comments, called 1-855-876-1816 – spoke w/Jade (ID 211521) who GUARANTEED I would be receiving the item I ordered (the butterfly) within 7-10 business days. I originally called to cancel the order, and told her I was going to do so because of all the comments posted about orders not being filled – she said they had a high demand for these items, but again GUARANTEED I would receive mine. I do, however, plan to notify Sprout about the difficulty experienced with one of their advertisers.

Those of you getting the sales calls should report them or let them know they can be reported. The website says the phone number is needed for questions about your order, not to try and sell you something else.

I wish I would have researched before ordering online. My 2 boys still drag me into the room every time they see this commercial. I finally broke down and ordered online but never received any confirmation (luckily the money hasn’t come out of my account either). They keep asking when they will be here so I decided to call the customer service number. The only one I could find was at the end of the promo video to order by phone. I tried that # and it says it’s not a working number. Yet the stupid ad runs every 5 minutes on TV. This is the only thing I can remember them begging for and now it looks like I’m going to have break the news that they won’t be arriving. Did anyone who ordered receive a confirmation and did the $ come out of your account at the time you ordered or when it shipped? Does anyone have a working number for them???? The regular pillow pets were no problem so I don’t know what the problem is with these.
I ordered the Rainbow Unicorn for my great-granddaughter 3 days ago. She waits for the mail every day. The total was $39.95. I thought I didn’t get the promised 25% off per the commercial so I called them. I was told that I ordered the “Deluxe” version which was originally $49.95 so they claim I did get my 25% off. What makes it delux is that it has an adapter. Anyway, I did manage to get a hold of the company (Ontel Products) at 1-973-439-9035 and email them at help@ontelproducts.com. I haven’t received any shipping notice nor has my account been charged.

I sure am glad I found this forum! I ordered this about two weeks ago for my grandmother to give to my daughter for her birthday. My gram keeps calling me and saying I still haven’t received the dream lite, so I told her I would call the company today. Well, I went to the dreamlite website and the number they have is not in service! I ordered a pillow pet for a friend last summer and everything went great, but sounds like they are in over their heads with the dream lites. They also called my house trying to talk my husband into the free coupons. Not sure if it’s a scam or if they weren’t expecting this many orders and don’t have enough of the products to send to us consumers! My daughters birthday party is in less than two weeks, so I’m thinking my gram will have to find something else and hopefully it will be here before Easter!
Update: I called the number listed in one of the above posts and they told me the product was ordered Feb. 21, shipped today and would be here March 16. They gave me a confirmation number and a website(which didn’t work), but found another website called ontel.com put in what I ordred and it sent me to Fed Ex. It was shipped and they estimate deliver March 16. Two days before my daughters party so fingers crossed it shows up!

I ordered the unicorn dreamlite weeks ago and have not received it nor have I received any communication from the company. I just called them and was told that it is on backorder and will be AT LEAST three more weeks. So instead of having this for my child’s birthday I will be lucky to have it by Easter. I ordered this in plenty of time for the birthday but do to an inept company I will not have it. I can’t believe they wouldn’t let people know when they order or even after they order that the item is not in stock and when the backorder will be filled. Instead you wait and wait and wait and finally get through on the phone (which is always busy or you are on hold for quite a while) and are then told by a rather impersonal person with an attitude that you have to wait even longer without a definite time frame. What a joke! Good Luck to anyone else that orders from this company.
I placed my order over 4 weeks ago. I got a phone call less than 12hrs after placing my order and was told it would take a few days before I received it, but they also tried selling me something not related to the Dreamlites! I tried to call to get the status of my order and it was just a huge circle jerk…customer service kept tranfering me to billing and then the billing dept would hang up on me when I finally got a human 15mins later the billing dept was closed. I called today to cancel my order and they told me the peguin was on back order and it was gonna take another 4 wks and they told me they would give me a discount of $5 off. In my opinion this is a scam and I will be reporting them to the better bussiness bureaau

I have not read all of the posts so forgive me if someone has already said this but I find it strange that this product is not sold on the Pillow Pets website. Wouldn’t you think that if it is truly from the makers of Pillow Pets it would be sold on their website? It is possible that they have simply made a poor choice in giving their product to an outside marketing company but it seems troubling that there is not even the slightest mention of them on the website. From a business perspective, if I had an existing product such as Pillow Pets, I would want to have my new product on the website to draw customers in. This might encourage them to buy a new Pillow Pet while they are buying the Dreamlite. With all of the references claiming “from the makers of Pillow Pets,” I would assume that there would already be a cease and desist order if indeed it was someone trying to use their name under false pretenses. As I believe someone else mentioned, it seems like maybe they did get a bit ahead of themselves. But….it could be that they knew they didn’t have the supply but they wanted to generate the money so they hired the services of an outside marketing company who can “take the blame” for the mishandling. This would also explain the very strange disconnect between the two products from the same maker. This would also explain the attempts by the marketing company to try and sell other products….”you sell our products and later take the fall for poor service and you can try and sell other things as well?” Just a thought

But she then told me that she had found another site to order them from; called “Cloud B”. She said they are sold at Target. I hope this works out. I bid 40,000 credits for a rainbow unicorn!
On March 13th AT 12:27PM (CST) I CALLED and I spoke with Supervisor Sal, operator #060405. The call lasted 29 MINUTES AND 1 SECOND, and Sal assured me the ladybug dreamlite I originally ordered on March 5th, would be shipped within 2 days from March 13th…..given PRIORITY attention. As you can see by the e-mail dated March 7th and March 9th from Jasmine, she stated the ladybug I ordered was on back order. Sal informed me this was not the case and they in fact were IN STOCK!
After I received the e-mail from Lizette on March 12th, with the information of the dreamlites that WERE available, she asked me to call and tell them which one I wanted as a substitute. I called and talked with David who was of no help at all. David said my order had not been processed due to an incorrect address and the ladybug dreamlite WAS available. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was given to Sal, operator #060405. Sal also said the ladybug WAS available and it had not been processed because of an incorrect address. THE ADDRESS WAS NOT INCORRECT. Sal then assured me he was giving the shipment of the ladybug PRIORITY status and it would ship immediately.
As I stated in my first paragraph – the order is not trackable by any means through your website http://www.ontelproductsorderstatus.com to this date, March 17th. TWELVE days have passed and i have received no information on my order.
I would like IMMEDIATE attention to this and EXPECT it to be shipped overnight to me at your EXPENSE. I have waited fair enough time for this order.
I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and other officials regarding the lack of professionalism and business ethics of your company!!!!! I asked Sal on 5 different occasions throughout the duration of the 29 minute 1 second phone call, who his supervisor was and the name of the parent company to which I need to report this henious act from your company. Sal refused all 5 times to give me any information.

Ordered 2 Dreamlites on 3/1/2012.. After trying to “track my order” and their site not “finding any orders”…
It finally found my order using my billing zip code and phone number. I don’t know why it offers you to track your order since all it states is on 3/1 “orders are on back order and should arrive very soon”..
Umm… I sent emails to correct my zip code and tried calling their 800 number and the number in the “order status” confirmation and the phone just goes straight to a busy signal! They state Thor hours are 9-7 est. it’s 11am there! No excuse unless they disconnected their number and ran for the hills! Guess my kids won’t be getting something they cried for all because the company advertised like crazy KNOWING CHILDREN WOULD WANT ONE and then can’t fulfill their obligations to the consumer. I ordered a unicorn and ladybug on February 23, haven’t seen them yet. My daughter’s birthday is in two days and I’m hoping they arrive by then. They told me to check my order status at http://www.dreamliteorderstatus.com but I tried and google doesn’t recognize that address, giving the benefit of the doubt, maybe I wrote it down wrong? Has anyone received their’s yet?
I emailed them and got a better response that way. They were very helpful. I ordered mine on feb 25 and received it this past Wednesday. The shipping took forever, they shipped out on the 12th and I didn’t get till 21st. Hang in there, you’ll get them. It’s not a scam. When your card gets billed is when they ship.

I ordered the ladybug and the mystical unicorn on Feb.18 and still have not gotten anything. I called and they said they were on back order but my card would not be charged until they shipped. They gave me the tracking number but everytime I go on the site to track it says webpage can’t be found. This is crazy.
I read all the bad reports on this and was very skeptical but my son wanted one so I took a chance and ordered it March 4th. It took a while and arrived March 18th, and it is quite cute and surprisingly bright. My 4 year-old will love it.

This is a waste of money!. The item sent was defective and wouldn’t work. Now I have to pay to send it back to them in order to either get a replacement or a refund (minus the $1.00 web surcharge fee, and the initial $7.95 Shipping & handling fee, plus the additional fee to ship it back to them.

I bought 2 Dreamlites, the rainbow unicorn and the red ladybug. I received both within a week. My daughter loves them. No problems at all and no annoying phone calls.

i have place an order on 4/17/12 and noticed that my order has not been shipped!!! when i called customer service, they had told me that it was because the pee-wee shark (which I could not take off my order and an extra charge of 6.95 shipping) was on back order. Customer service sucks!! If it was on back order, it would have been nice to get a notice that it would be a while for my item to be shipped. Or be told, before i placed my order. Today is 4/23/12, and i had just called customer service to take off the pee-wee shark that i did not want anyways… and send my damn order. next time, ill just order the damn thing off ebay!!!! all i wanted was the dreamlite anyways. they should really learn to 1) have an open line to order the fricken doll 2) inform customers on back ordered products and 3) learn better customer service practices!!! i dont think i will ever order from their site or any of their afflilates AGAIN!!!!

The Dreamlite company is really a bad situation. I ordered three dreamlites fro my grand kids. after three weeks I hadn’t heard any thing from them. So I had to google Dreamlites and was able to get a phone number. Once contacting them I was told that the unicorn dreamlite that I had ordered wa son back order. I had ordered the upgrade deluxe kite with an electrical plug so it could be plug in to a socket when the batteries are low, also there was suppose to be a baby pet with each Dreamlite pillow. Well I was told that one of the Dream lites were on back order for about three weeks and that is why I hadn’t gotten a status update. So I asked them if they could just ship the ones that they had on hand, but they also said that the baby dreamlites that comes with the deluxe package was also on backorder. So I told them that I wanted to cancel the previous order and make a different order and I ad my grand daughter pick another one that she might like. So we decided to redo the order, and wouldn’t you know it we finally got the order and the Dreamlite that was sent to us that my grand daughter settled for arrived and it does not work with the batteries. It works with the electrical plug, but remember it is part of the the suppose to be deluxe version, in which you have to pay extra for. So know I have been trying to find a telephone number to call them about the bad Dream lite because there is no phone number on the invoice that we received with the shipment. So if I hadn’t paid extra for the wall socket them the Dreamlite that my grand daughter settled for would not even work. Ordering from these people it is a fiasco, so I would suggest that you try some where else if you do not want any hassles. they are not professional at all

My kids WERE really excited and they thought they were getting a dreamlite. My friend ordered one for her a daughter and I saw it at here house and I really liked it a lot. I know my kids would like it if they only were able to get one. My friend said she wants her money back though. She said that she was suppose to get a battery charger to recharge the batteries so she didn’t have to keep replacing them and she paid extra money for the charger but the dreamlites company said that the battery charger is on backorder and she has been waiting for it to come ever since she ordered her daughter’s dreamlite. It has been over 2 months and my friend still hasn’t received the battery charger they said she was going to get and that she paid extra money for. Also, my friend had trouble with the battery door. The screw almost stripped when she was trying to open the battery door to replace the batteries and the battery door and screw is really flimsy, little and cheap looking and feeling. Another thing, the batteries without the battery charger runs out in a month-2 months and you have to replace the batteries every month-no more than 2 months. Batteries definitely need raplacement and last no longer than 2 months.

I ordered my son one about 3 weeks ago and I received it today with the mail. I didn’t think 3 weeks was too bad from processing to my door. My son loves it, we will put it on a table by his bed at night. I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews maybe they weren’t organized months ago but I had no issues at all. I am even thinking of getting him another for the play room. I do believe they will be available in stores in July. I think I read that someplace.
I am none too happy with the mechanics of this company. My granddaughter was so excited that we put in the order, and wants to know when her “dreamlite” is going to be here, but I can’t get a confirmation or track the thing. It says “will be shipped promptly!”. I tried calling the customer service and didn’t get much satisfaction from them. They are telling me that my shipping address and billing address with the credit card company isn’t compatible. Funny thing, I’ve not changed address or had any other promblems with my cc company! It feels like a run around excuse to me!! Now I have to try to cancel my order, can’t wait for that ordeal! Too bad I didn’t see this site with complaints before I ordered. Thanks for all for all for all of the comments, as I was also about the buy one for my son who keeps on bugging me for one. However, after doing some research on them it looks like they just filed for the ‘Dream Lites’ trademark in late April and were approved recently on May 8. Probably a reason why nobody’s orders from earlier were filled.
I’m currently searching Ebay and Amazon and other legit sites for these from people who actually have them in hand right now, as I would be willing to pay a little more for one but only if I’m assured it’ll ship out and arrive to me within a short period.
I’ve had nothing but trouble ever since I placed an order for a Dream Lite that my child keeps asking me for daily. It’s been over two months now, and all I’ve been told is the item is on backorder. This company is terrible. They ship the item via “Smartship” where FedEx takes the item to your local post office, then it is delivered. Well FedEx dropped it off at my post office on May 16 and my post office can’t locate it (complaints filed with Fedex and USPS). Called the company twice to ask for my money to be refunded, no help. Called today and spoke with a Supervisor/Manager Who told me the money should be back in my account in 10 days. My son is disappointed. I will never order from this company again, and informed the Supervisor of that. This company is TERRIBLE, I wish I read reviews prior to ordering.
I ordered two – Lady Bug and Penquin – for my granddaughters. I read the comments about possible back-orders, etc., so I ordered them well in advance of their July birthdays. I got them in about 3 weeks. I tested them out and they both work fine and are very cute. I would have never expected the kids to sleep with them, as some others have mentioned. They both have regular pillow pets that they sleep with. I assumed that these are a “pillow pet” brand, but are definitely just meant to be a night light to sit on a dresser or night stand. That would be crazy to expect your child to sleep with a night light! There is a similar product sold at Babys r Us and other places, but is a hard shell turtle, and shines stars, etc. on the ceiling. It is priced about the same (maybe higher). The pillow pet brand is much cuter, because you can get them in a variety of types of stuffed animals, to appeal to your own child’s favorite. My email confirmation had the customer service number right at the top. I never called it, but if I needed to, was definitely not hard to find! I don’t know what all the fuss is about! I don’t think that 30 bucks is too much for what you are getting. You can have it change colors, or make it stay white. You can use the timer, which shuts off in 20 minutes, or turn the timer off. I will buy another one for my third granddaughter, expected in October!

Ordered online and put in the code “Dream” for the discount. Nope no discount. The website added another speakers when I only selected one. Ordered on the weekend and called first thing Monday. Took an hour to get through to Customer Service to correct the mistake on the order and to get the discount. Finally got the representative and RUDE RUDE RUDE, saying if you ordered it how is it wrong? She told me she could not correct the problem even though the order had not shipped. I did not receive the DISCOUNT because it is already DISCOUNTED. REALLY! Than why have an order code of “Dream” if it is already discounted? FALSE ADVERTISING! After an hour and going through a lot of arguing with the representative finally got the discount and the extra speaker removed. I can hardly wait if the item has a problem.

I’m sick of hearing everyone whine how they didn’t get it immediately. Stop with the instant gratification and entitlement. So you had to wait because something was on backorder. I just received an item from a different store that was on backorder for three months. These things happen. How about you don’t tell your kids you are ordering them a toy then it can be a surprise if/when you actually buy it for them. My daughter sees the commercials all the time for these pillows and wants everything she sees. I just tell her maybe Santa will bring it for you. If I do decide to buy it for her then she is surprised and it is more special because she isn’t expecting it. She doesn’t throw tantrums because she doesn’t get everything she wants when she wants it. She even told me one day when she was playing at someone else’s house she wanted some toys that we didn’t have and she said ‘mommy, maybe Santa will bring me some’. She didn’t demand that I buy it for her.

My father ordered the dog for my nephew’s birthday – when it arrived they checked it out – it DOES NOT put the shape of the animal on the ceiling – it is very faint lighting – so he decided to send it back it has now been over 30 days since returning it with THEIR Return label and every time he calls he gets someone that doesn’t speak english very well that tells him “we have not gotten your package yet so we can not refund your money” Bull crap!!! They sent out the label, they have a tracking number, it doesn’t take a month for the post office to deliver an item not even Parcel Post items. We just got a unicorn dream lite at Walmart last night! Our 6 yr old daughter loves it. It has an automatic shut off which is nice. We set it by her bed & she fell asleep while it was still going!! Now our 3 yr old wants one, so I was looking online for one. Walmart is the cheapest way to go for those!!! So we are happy with the dream lite:)

I order 2 dream lites they r suppose to be the red ladbugs ,I hope thats what I get…Has anyone else order on line?
I order Dream lites for Christmas …I order 2 Ladybugs Red ones and got 2 pink ones,NOT happy …………Had to send one back cause cont undo the screw where the battiers went it was striped…Now waiting again…They FALSE advertise the Red Lady bugs…Never will order again from them ……..
Not Happy with this company…………..Wont order anything else from them……….
